Feed nozzles

• Disposal of material through incineration
• High flow rates with effective atomization aid in burn efficiency.

Gas cooling/quenching nozzles

• Hot gases coming off the incinerator/process may need cooling before entering the atmosphere or reaching downstream equipment such as a scrubber or baghouse.
• Smaller droplets created by spiral, misting, or air atomizing nozzles increase surface area and heat absorption.

Dry scrubbers

• SOx removal using lime slurries or other scrubbing agents

FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization)

• Spray lime slurry or other scrubbing fluid into flue gas from coal-fired power plants to absorb the sulfur oxides created during the combustion process
• Due to the erosive nature of many scrubbing fluids, high wear-resistant materials for this application include silicon carbide (SNBSC and RBSC) as well as cobalt alloys.

Odor control

Packed bed scrubbers

SCR/SNCR applications

• Control NOx emissions using ammonia (NH₃) or urea solution.
• Nozzles spray ammonia or urea solutions to absorb nitrogen oxides produced by combustion processes in which environmental regulations limit emissions.

Venturi scrubbing

• A form of gas scrubbing in which the gas passes through a narrowed section of ducting where high velocities help to ensure thorough mixing and contact between the gas and scrubbing fluid

Water wash injection

Aeration Air Stripping

• Use air stripping and spray aeration nozzles to expose contaminated water to air to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and trihalomethanes (THMs).
  • Increasing the surface area of the contaminated water exposed to the air removes unwanted chemicals through diffusion.
• Open and packed tower arrangements
  • Whirl nozzles increase uniformity above the packing.
  • Spiral nozzles provide smaller droplet sizes in direct contact applications.

Dust control

• Conveyor and transfer points
  • Wetting the surface of the material on conveyors with spray nozzles to prevent dust during transportation
  • Use spray nozzles to wet material at transfer points where dust generation is highest and material exposure is significant.
• Truck loading and unloading
  • Mitigate dust caused by loading and unloading trucks with spray nozzles that reduce airborne dust while wetting material, minimizing dust formation.
  • Misting nozzles combined with fans or blowers provide significant coverage and extend the reach of small droplets ideal for dust control.
